PATTERN BOOK / ROWS AND DIAGONALS

Five ways to read nine spaces.

Pick one route across the face of the board. Only its three symbols decide the result of that turn.

Upper row: a Cherries pair

Two point discs and one Cherries emblem. These three spaces are the only ones counted.

1The three straight routes

The upper row uses the top window of every reel. The centre row uses the middle window of every reel, and the lower row uses the bottom window of every reel. Each route therefore crosses all three columns.

Vertical columns are excluded because each one is a fixed sequence of adjacent symbols on a single reel. They are the mechanism you move, not a scoring option. The pattern selector deliberately offers five choices rather than every possible line across the grid.

2The two routes through the centre

The descending diagonal starts at the upper-left space, crosses the middle and ends at the lower-right. The ascending diagonal starts at the lower-left, crosses the middle and ends at the upper-right. Both include exactly three spaces.

Select the whole route before counting. A matching pair at its two ends counts even when the centre is different. You may not replace an inconvenient middle space with a nearby symbol outside the chosen diagonal.

3Resolve one route, once

Different symbols produce one point disc. A pair produces two discs and a matching emblem; a triple produces four discs and one matching emblem. A natural triple already reaches the highest immediate award available from that turn.

You can compare legal routes after moving, but collecting commits the selected result. In the six-turn practice tray, the Collect button locks the decision and records it in the visible history. The next turn carries the actual reel arrangement forward.
